What are you ready to release?

The ability to let go is vital to our well-being. But letting go is something many of us find very difficult. Becoming unstuck doesn’t happen overnight, but with intention and practice, you will gradually begin to let go. Today, let's set an intention to start the process of letting go.

What are you ready to release?
Quote by Jack Kornfield on letting go

Welcome to the month of March.

In many parts of the world, it’s still winter – it’s cold, dark, and the nights are long. It’s a time when some plants and animals hibernate and when many people suffer from Winter Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). March is also the month when we transition from winter to spring. In the month of March, we begin to look forward to more sunlight, longer days, and warmer temperatures.

The magic of March is that it’s a month where we say goodbye and hello simultaneously. March is a time of endings and beginnings. It offers us opportunities to let go of some things and to embrace others.

The transition from winter to spring is automatic. Like time, it happens whether we want it to or not, and doesn’t require us to do anything in particular. But for human beings, transitioning from one thing to another isn’t always automatic. If the transition we’re hoping to make involves letting go of what no longer serves us, we must do so intentionally.

Although the ability to let go is vital to our well-being, letting go is something many of us find very difficult.

As human beings, we are wired for attachment, so even when something no longer serves us, we tend to hold on to it, keep it close. Whether it’s who we were in the past, an old favorite sweater that’s now too small, the friend we’ve outgrown or the partner we love but who is no longer quite right for us, letting go isn’t easy. We resist it, we fight it.

The thing is that holding on to what no longer serves us can cause a great deal of pain. When we hang on when we should let go, we become stuck. That’s because if we don’t let go, there is no room for new possibilities to enter our lives.

Becoming unstuck doesn’t happen overnight. Be gentle with yourself. With intention and practice, you will gradually begin to let go.

Today, let us start the process of becoming unstuck.

Today, let us begin to release that which no longer serves us.

Till next time,

Be Well.
